THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR THEATRE

The pupils of 6th grade we learned and prepared the story about the traditional english tale called " The very hungry cartepillar". We have learned the dialogues and prepared some visual cards to help children of P5 understand better the meaning of the story. One day, we went to the psicomotricity class and we explained to them. They enjoyed a lot! Now they are working with this story in their english classes. Els nens i nenes de 6è hem après i preparat una història sobre un conte tradicional anglès anomenat " L'ergua goluda". Nosaltres hem après els diàlegs i hem preparat algunes imatges per ajudar als nens a entendre millor el significat de la història. Després, un dia vàrem anar a l'aula de psicomotricitat i els hi vam explicar. Vam gaudir molt!! Ara, ells ho estan treballant en les estones d'anglès. Video 1 Video 2

"ALICE" THEATRE PLAY

The 19th of April the "Blue Mango Theatre" is going to come to the school to represent the theatre play "ALICE". These days we have been working this play with the children from 1st of primary to 6th of primary: we have sung the songs we are going to listen during the play, we have learnt things about the British and Irish culture, the main important traditions and festivities of these places, and we have discovered curiosities about the characters of the play: Alice, the White Rabbit, the Queen of Hearts, Leprechaun, the Mad Hatter. a Skeleton and Father Christmas.

 SYNOPSIS OF ALICE: 

This is not Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, it is a play inspired by his story and characters.

Our modern day Alice falls asleep under a tree whilst reading Alice in Wonderland and is woken by the sound of the white rabbit in a panic; he is very late. Following him, she discovers she is suddenly in Ireland, at a St. Patrick's Day Parade where a Leprechaun explains all about St. Patrick. He tells her to follow the white rabbit as he will help her return home.

On her way she finds herself at the Mad Hatters' tea party where she  learns all about food times in England including tea time. However tea is interrupted by the arrival of the Queen of Hearts, who is upset beacuse she doesn't have any Valentines cards. She mistakes Alice for the postman and when Alice tell her she has not cards for her, Alice is sent off to prision.

In prision she meets a sad skeleton that is missing Halloween. He's stuck in a jail because he is not scary enough and he hates Halloween, so Alice decides tio help him. She escapes with the rabbit's help and she finds herself on a sleigh, with Santa Claus who tells her al about the various Christmas traditions.

Finally Alice catches up with the rabbit, and after learning all about Estaer including an Estaer egg hunt, she finally returns home, back to her book, wondering if it all really was a dream...

El 19 d'abril el "Blue Mango Theatre" vindrà a l'escola per representar l'obra de teatre "ALICE". Aquests dies hem estat treballant l'obra amb els nens i nenes des de 1r de primària fins a 6è: hem cantat les cançons que sentirem durant l'obra, hem après coses sobre la cultura britànica i irlandesa, les tradicions i festivitats més importants d'aquests indrets, i hem descobert curiositats sobre els protagonistes de l'obra: l'Alícia, el conill blanc, la reina de cors, el follet, el barreter boig, l'esquelet i el Pare Noel.

 SINOPSIS D'ALICE: 

Aquesta no és la història d'Alícia al país de les Meravelles de Lewis Carroll, sinó que és una obra inspirada en la seva història i protagonistes.

En els nostres temps l'Alícia s'adorm sota d'un arbre mentre llegeix Alícia al país de les Meravelles i es desperta pel soroll d'un conill blanc ben estressat: va molt tard. Tot seguint-lo es troba repentinament a Irlanda, a la desfilada del dia de Sant Patrici on un follet l'hi explica tot sobre Sant Patrici. També li diu que segueixi al conill blanc perquè l'ajudarà a tornar a casa seva.

Pel camí es troba enmig la festa del te del Barreter Boig on aprèn tot sobre les hores dels àpats a Anglaterra, incloent l'hora del te. Malgrat això, el te es veu interromput per l'arribada de la Reina de Cors, la qual està trista perquè no ha tingut postals de Sant Valentí. Aquesta confon Alícia pel carter, i quan Alícia lñi diu que no té postals per a ella, Alícia és enviada a la presó.

A la presó coneix un esquelet trist que s'ha perdut Halloween. Està empresonat perquè no fa prou por i odia Halloween, així que l'Alícia decideix ajudar-lo. Ella escapa amb l'ajuda del conill blanc i es troba a sobre d'un trineu amb Santa Claus, qui li explica tot sobre les les tradicions del Nadal.

Finalment l'Alícia atrapa el conill i després d'aprendre tot sobre Pascua incloent l'amagada de l'ou, torna a casa, al llibre el qual estava llegint, preguntant-se si tot havia estat realment un somni...

In the class we were learning about the different festivities. For St. Patrick's day we were looking for information on the Internet and we did a crossword realted with some of its typical vocabulary. For St. Valentine's day we listened a dialogue between Alice and the Queen of Hearts and then we asked some questions. For Halloween we listened the song "Treat or trick" and we learned new vocabulary related to its festivity. For Christmas we read about the way people celebrate that festivity arround the world and then we answered some questions related to the text. We also heard a new version of the song "Jingle Bells".

A classe vam aprendre sobre les diferents festivitats. Per el dia de Sant Patrici vam estar buscant informació a Internet i vam fer un mot encreuat relacionat amb el vocabulari típic. Per Sant Valentí vam escoltar un diàleg entre l'Alícia i la Reina de Cors i després vam contestar unes preguntes. Per Halloween vam escoltar la cançó "Tacte o truc" i vam aprendre nou vocabulari relacionat amb dita festivitat. Per Nadal vam llegir un text sobre la manera com la gent celebra aquesta festivitat arreu del món i vam contestar unes preguntes relacionades amb el text. També vam escoltar una nova versió de la cançó "Jingle Bells".

EASTER IN THE SCHOOL

The last month of March we celebrated Easter in the school. The last day before holidays we played different games in the school related with that festivity.

We did two games in the playground during the morning with all the children of the school. We created 20 groups with mixed up students from P3 to 6th of primary. Each group had one shape (triangle or circle) and one colour (red, dark green, blue, orange, yellow, light green, black, brown, white and pink).

For example; the group of the red circle, the group of the blue triangle, etc.  

THE EGG HUNT: The groups had to look for a basket with chocolate eggs hunted somewhere in tyhe playground. In order to find it, each group had a clue that they have to solve.

THE EGG RACE: In order to play this game the children had to hold one spoon in their mouth with one egg on it. The egg could be real o made of plastic. They had to walk trying to keep the egg on the spoon; go and come back. If they achieved it their team had one point. If they dropped the egg on the flor and it was broken they had to return to the queue and the next person had to continue with the game. If the egg was made of plastic and it bounced on the ground they still had the opportunity to pick up the egg and continue playing until they go back to the queue.

When all the teams finished both games all the children did a big circle in the playground and they ate all the chocolate eggs that they found in the playground.

WE HAD GREAT FUN!!

El passat mes de març vam celebrar la Pascua a l'escola. L'últim dia abans de vacances vam jugar diferents jocs a l'escola relacionats amb aquesta festivitat.

Vàrem fer dos jocs al pati durant el matí amb tots els nens i nenes de l'escola. Es van crear 20 grups d'alumnes barrejats des de P3 fins a 6è. Cada grup tenia una forma adjudicada (un triangle o un cercle) i un color (vermell, verd fosc, blau, taronja, verd clar, negre, marró, blanc i rosa).

Per exemple; el grup del cercle vermell, el grup del triangle blau, etc.

L'AMAGATALL DE L'OU: Els grups havien de buscar una cistella amb els ous ous de xocolata amagada en algun indret del pati. Per tal de trobar-la, cada grup tenia una pista que havia de resoldre.

LA CURSA DE L'OU: Per jugar aquest joc els nens i nenes havien d'aguantar una cullera a la boca amb un ou. L'ou podia ser de veritat o de plàstic. Havien de caminar procurant mantenir l'ou a la cullera; anar fins a un con i tornar. Si ho aconseguien el seu equip guanyava un punt. Si l'ou queia a terra i es trencava havien de retornar a la cua i la propera persona de l'equip havia de continuar amb el joc. Si l'ou era de plàstic i rebotava a terra tenien la oportunitat de recollir-lo i continuar jugant fins que retornaven de nou a la cua.
